TX | The Office of the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts has now successfully completed
programming to no longer require zero reports for Surplus Lines agents and agencies.
Note: the exemption from filing zero reports does not apply to surplus lines insurers.
This means that if a person or company holds a surplus lines agent/agency license with the Texas Department of Insurance and the amount to report is zero, no tax report submission is required. Zero reports can still be submitted during the month of March, if the licensee wishes to submit one. However, in the beginning of April, the period will automatically close, and it will not show in the Web File system after that point.
